Lunch/Learn with Rabbi Robert Scheinberg - What Does Jewish Tradition Say About Redeeming Captives?
Saturday, September 7, 2024 • 4 Elul 5784
1:00 PM - 2:30 PMUSHThe devastating news of the murder of six Israeli hostages held by Hamas has plunged so many into deep grief, and also highlighted disagreements about how to handle hostage situations. We'll learn some sources from throughout Jewish history about the mitzvah of pidyon sh'vuyim - redeeming captives - and its challenges.
