Stained Glass Windows
Stained Glass Windows
Our synagogue was built by the Star of Israel Congregation in 1915 and exemplifies traditional European 19th-century synagogue architecture. In vibrant contrast to the old architectural details, our new stained-glass windows will catch your eye.
Artist and USH member Susan Klein Cohen designed and lovingly created the windows, with the volunteer assistance of several other members of our congregation.
The windows on the right side of the sanctuary represent the Biblical story of creation. The windows on the left side focus on how each day's creations are reflected later on in the Bible and Jewish tradition.
