“Renew our days as of old”
—Eicha
USH best embodies the definition of community when we welcome new babies into the world; when we shower 13-year-olds with sweets as they take their first steps into adulthood; as we celebrate engagements and dance with brides and grooms; as we visit the homebound and the ill and comfort the mourners.
Rabbi Robert Scheinberg, who has led the congregation since 1997, is a trained counselor who provides support and non-judgmental guidance at times of happiness and difficulty. In our accelerated and disjointed world, community is more important than ever. Many of us have learned in Hoboken what the word really means.
