Board of Trustees

David Swirnoff

President

David first became aware of USH in 2005 when he attended a couple of services with former member David Kaufman.  Since around 2007, he has been attending services and exploring the various programs at USH:  Torah study, introduction to Judaism, singing with the choir, attending Sulaam for Leaders program and then joining the USH board in 2013. David lives in Rutherford with his wife, USH member and volunteer, Merry Firschein, and their dog, Humphrey.

Rochelle Ohring

Secretary

Rochelle Ohring has been a member of USH since the late 1980s and was elected to the board in 2014.  A resident of Hoboken since 1984, Rochelle has vivid memories of 115 Park Avenue being gated, locked, and very uninviting – the opposite of what it is today!  Rochelle, who has undergraduate and MBA degrees from Rutgers, has worked for over 30 years doing marketing research in financial services, with the last thirteen at Citi.  Rochelle is married to
Avi Ohring, whom she met in 1989 at USH.  Rochelle and Avi have two college-age sons, Jake and Max, both of whom started as toddlers attending Learning Center, going through their bar mitzvah years and beyond.
