If you would like to attend services, we encourage you to become a member of the United Synagogue of Hoboken. We are an open, inclusive, and eclectic congregation. There is a place for YOU in our community!

If you would prefer to attend High Holy Day services without membership, you are welcome to do so. However, in order to support our outstanding programs and services, we recommend the following donation to USH $250.00 per adult guest not associated with a current USH member; $100.00 per adult guest of USH members. Undergraduate students of Stevens Institute receive tickets at no charge (but should contact the synagogue in advance to order).

Please note that these fees may be applied towards Synagogue membership later on in the year. No prospective member of our community will be turned away because of financial hardship.

Guests of USH members - $100
Please note that the member must purchase this ticket.
Tickets for non-members - $250

Parking rules for High Holy Days 5769 - 2008

Regular posted street parking rules will be in effect throughout Hoboken during the High Holy Days. People attending services, however, are invited to park in Garage "B" free of charge.

Garage B is located on Second Street, between River and Hudson Streets. Patrons are generally charged an hourly rate, but those attending services at USH can have their parking ticket validated by Hoboken police offers stationed outside the synagogue, or at police headquarters, on Hudson Street between First and Second Streets.

Services During the Year

Sanctuary at 115 Park Days and times:
Friday nights at 7 p.m.;
Saturday mornings: P'skei d'Zimra at 9:30 a.m.; Torah service at 10:30 a.m.; Torah discussion at 11:30 a.m.

Most services are predominantly in Hebrew. Transliterations and sheet music are available. Services on Fri. and Sat. are followed by Kiddush -- an opportunity for worshippers to meet one another.

Reading the Torah Services are characterized by enthusiastic congregational participation and singing. Services are led by members of the congregation under the guidance of the Rabbi.

Shabbat morning services include a Torah study discussion rather than a sermon. It's not necessary to come at 9:30 -- if you're not accustomed to a 3-hour Shabbat morning service, why not come to the part that interests you? We'll be happy to see you no matter when you show up...

Adinah In Synagogue Children are welcomed in our community and encouraged to participate during services.

The Learning Center accepts children from the age of 2 years, and has classes every Saturday morning at 11:00.

All services and education activities take place at the Synagogue (115 Park Ave.) or The Kaplan Learning Center (117-119 Park Ave.).
